Who can be an “SPD Ride to Remember” Rider?

  • SPD Ride to Remember will be open to all riders.
  • All participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • All participants must have a road bike, hybrid or approved mountain bike.

  • The ride is scheduled for Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Where does the ride start and end?

  • Welcome to – The Ride-to-Remember – Tour of Western Massachusetts!!
    This year’s ride will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
    This year’s 50 Mile ride will begin at 9:00 A.M. from the Irish Cultural Center/West Springfield Pavilion located at 429 Morgan Rd. West Springfield. The same Police escort and State Police Helicopter will be enabling riders to travel safely through 10 cities and towns in Western MA. There are three rest stops planned. The first one will be at Hillcrest Park Cemetery on Parker Street in Springfield. We are dedicating this year’s ride to the 10th Anniversary of Springfield Police Officer Kevin Ambrose’s End-of-Watch. Riders will pay tribute to Officer Ambrose at this  first rest stop.
    Our second rest stop will be the Vanished Valley Brewery where you will be provided lunch and a back massage. There will be hundreds of volunteers helping out all our stops. Competitive Edge Bike Shop in East Longmeadow will be following the ride the entire way assisting in bike repairs and flat tires.
    Our third rest-stop will be at the Holyoke Police Department to honor Fallen Holyoke Officer John Dinapoli along with the Holyoke Fire Department.
    We return to the Irish Cultural Center around 3:00 P.M. where we will have a huge celebration of life for Officer Kevin Ambrose, Westfield Police Officer Jose Torres and Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans.T here will be lots of food, beer, a concert, swag and fun for your entire family and friends.

What safety equipment do I need to participate?

  • All riders must wear a helmet at all times of the ride. Bikes used must be a road bike.
  • No off-road mountain, trail bikes or hybrids are allowed.

NOTE: There is NO RAIN DATE for the “SPD Ride to Remember”. The event will take place during inclement weather conditions.
