Navy Veteran, Retired Police Officer, Artist, Devoted Father, Ride to Remember Pioneer…

In memory of Salvatore Persico.

Sal’s family has chosen for donations to be made in lieu of the Ride to Remember. Sal has been a part of the Ride to Remember since day one. There wasn’t an event, fundraiser, training ride, century ride that he missed. He loved and looked forward to each and every event and helped in any way he could. He will be missed immensely. On the morning of June 22, 2020, Salvatore Persico died suddenly while hiking Skinner Mountain in Hadley.

Sal was truly an amazing man. I was blessed to call him my best friend for the past 30 years. He was a brother to me, always there when I needed him. He had the shoulder I used to cry on. I loved him and always knew he would be there for me and my family. If you never met Sal you missed out on meeting a great human being. He was the kind of guy you never forget.

Sal was a Veteran and served in the Navy. He worked as a Police Officer in Pompano Broward County, Florida. He worked locally at a prestigious manufacturing company in Westfield.
Sal was the best father I knew to four amazing children … Julie, Sal Jr., Talia and Rocco.

He loved being a dad and dedicated his whole life and being to his kids.
Salvatore had the best smile. He had that warmth that everyone could see. He was my calm to the storms in my life, my confidant and my right hand. He could tell when something was bothering me by a look or the tone of my voice. He would drop everything when I needed him.

I am devastated by his loss and will not be the same. I will miss our lunches, our training rides and our talks about life and family. I will miss the daily text from him asking about my day. Sal rode in every Ride-to-Remember. He was planning on doing the next one in September.

Gabriela and my family will miss him very much.

Rest-in-Peace Salvatore Persico
Sal was 62 years young.
