Springfield police seek bicyclists for annual Ride to Remember

SPRINGFIELD – With three months to go until the 4th annual Ride to Remember, the 106-mile ride between Springfield and Boston to commemorate fallen police officers, organizers are putting out a call for any interested participants.

Sgt. John Delaney, the principle organizer for the annual ride, said he is looking to top 400 riders this year, which would make it the biggest ride so far.

The ride is planned for Saturday, Sept. 17. It begins in downtown Springfield and concludes at the State House in Boston for a brief ceremony at the Massachusetts Fallen Officers memorial.
